We make it easy for you from offering free transportation to and from our training facility each day to providing our in-house drones and computers for you to train on at no extra cost.

If bundled with a Part 101/102 certification. Prior to attending our course you will be required to pass an online training and theory exam for 101 or 102. Once the theory portion has been completed we can initiate a flight test for your certification. This flight test will take place sometime during the 4 days of the drone surveying course. The flight test will take approximately 1 hour.

Aerial Surveying Course Overview
Day 1.
On the first day of our comprehensive 4-day aerial drone surveying course, we prioritize building a strong foundation for our candidates. We begin with a thorough review of the essential principles, ensuring that our candidates are well-versed in the fundamentals before moving on to more advanced concepts. This includes pre flight check lists and overview of CAA Part 101/102 rules and regulations, which is vital to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain safety protocols throughout the surveying process.
In the second half of the day, we provide our candidates with hands-on experience in the field. They will take part in multiple aerial surveys along side our part 102 certified instructors. This immersive experience allows our candidates to gain practical knowledge and understanding of what it takes to conduct an efficient and accurate survey, ensuring that they are prepared for the days ahead.
Day 2.
Day 2 is designed as an extensive classroom day where candidates will delve deeper into the theoretical aspects of conducting aerial surveys. This particular module covers a range of essential topics including flight planning, optimal camera settings, ground control points, RTK, height and overlap settings and much more. Participants will also learn about different types of outputs such as orthophotos, 3D meshes, point clouds and how they can be used for analysis. By the end of the day, candidates will have a strong foundational understanding of the core concepts necessary for conducting successful aerial surveys and providing accurate survey outputs.
Day 3.
On day 3, candidates will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge they've acquired in the previous two days to a practical scenario. They will receive a survey brief and be tasked with planning and executing a survey mission that meets the specified requirements. This stage of the course provides a realistic simulation of the entire survey process. This can include, gear prep, check list/CAA compliance and documentation, survey programming for autonomous flight, ground control layout, RTK set up, data acquisition, post flight check lists, data management practices, data processing, quality control and utilizing analysis software. To make the best use of the students time we can alter this days work flow to be more specific to the industry they are working in. So if certain aspects of the training are not applicable we will alter the survey brief to be aligned with their needs.
Day 4.
On the final day of the course, we will conduct a thorough review of all the topics covered over the previous three days. This includes a detailed examination of the processed data sets, identifying areas of improvement and providing guidance on how to enhance the surveying process. Participants will receive additional resources such as checklists and documentation to facilitate their future flights. Our team will be available to answer any questions and offer further support as necessary. Finally, DroneMate will provide transport for all participants to the airport to ensure a seamless departure.

Through direct phone guidance or online meeting, our instructors will assist you in troubleshooting any problems while offering valuable insights to reinforce the knowledge you gained from the course.
